Guided Trips with Milwaukee River Fly Fishing:
You can choose the type of water you want to fish. Tell us your goal(s) and we will make sure to develop a trip around your wants and needs.
River Trips: We will be floating and casting primarily for river smallmouth, pike, and carp in 1-4 ft of water.
Lake Trips: We will be floating small lakes with an average depth of 10ft or less and primarily casting for largemouth bass, pike, and panfish.
Trout Trips: We will walk and wade and fly fish for small stream inland trout or Lake Michigan rainbow and brown trout (Waders or long pants/boots required).

What does the booking process look like? Is there a deposit required?
When you submit your request for a booking, it will be reviewed and confirmed. Once your reservation is confirmed, a 25% deposit is required via Venmo or check to reserve your date(s). Remaining fees are to be paid directly to your guide after your trip.
Gratuities are customary.
How many people can be part of a single trip?
Most trips will be for 1 or 2 angler(s). It will be your choice when you book. Please note that if you are interested in a canoe trip only 1 angler per trip is allowed.
What kind of fish can we expect to see and catch?
The Milwaukee River and her tributaries boast wonderful smallmouth bass fishing from April through October and excellent northern pike fishing year round. Furthermore, it is not uncommon to catch walleye, catfish, carp, and an assortment of panfish. Great Lakes salmon, steelhead, and brown trout fishing is excellent September through April. Inland trout fishing is available from the first Saturday in January until October 15th.
Area lakes boast an excellent largemouth bass fishery and good numbers of northern pike, panfish, walleye, and musky.
Milwaukee River Fly Fishing focuses on warm water species such as smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, and carp. Arrangements can be made for those interested in fishing for salmon, steelhead, and brown trout.
Do you run hourly or multi-day trips?
Yes, please contact us for special rates on multi-day trips or for outings less than 4 hours. It our my goal to meet your needs. Sometimes family, professional, or life responsibilities only allow for an hour or two to fish and we want to make sure you maximize your time on the water.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
High quality gear, tackle, and flies are supplied but you are more than welcome to bring your own gear if preferred.
What should I wear?
Eye protection is required! Polarized sunglasses are recommended (brown, copper, or amber lenses work best). Make sure to bring your fishing license, a dark under-brim hat, quick-drying clothing and layers, and sun protection (e.g. a Buff, sun gloves, sunscreen). Footwear will get wet, please plan accordingly. Comfortable shoes, strap sandals, or wading boots without studs are required.
What is the cancellation policy?
A 30 day notice is required for a full refund of your deposit. Half of the deposit will be refunded for cancellations made less than 30 days but more than 48 hours prior to a trip. If you cancel within 48 hours, you will lose your deposit. Cancellation due to extreme weather conditions will be determined only when the safety of the client is at risk. In these cases, deposits will be refunded or held to reserve a rescheduled date.
